Mission Statement
The Milton K. Munitz Society, Inc., was established in 1996 to honor the work of Milton K. Munitz (1913-1995), a prolific writer of philosophy who served in, and as chair of, the philosophy department at New York University for many years, and was subsequently a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at City University of New York. The goals of the society are to preserve and promote interest in his work, encouraging research into those areas in which he made his principal contributions, and rewarding those who make outstanding intellectual contributions to those areas, especially with reference to Munitz's work. In particular, these areas include metaphysics, cosmology, the philosophy of science, and approaches within the philosophy of religion that connect with these.
